Synapsium

Sponsors

Without sponsors, we would never be able to organise the Synapsium conference. So, we would like to thank them for their support! Each of our sponsors plays an important role in enabling and improving education, research in cognitive neuroscience, or its applications in the medical industry.

On this page, you will find short profiles about each of our sponsors.

NeurotechEU represents a European alliance of eight universities with a focus on neurotechnology. By building a trans-European network of excellence in brain research and technologies, NeurotechEU increases the competitiveness of European education, research, economy, and society.

The NeurotechEU alliance, known as the European University of Brain and
Technology, aims to create a unique educational environment by integrating various disciplines such as neuroscience, medicine, engineering, AI, cognitive science, robotics, social sciences, and humanities. This initiative involves eight leading European universities and numerous associated
partners, including research institutions, companies, and societal stakeholders. The mission is to foster the next generation of multidisciplinary scientists and engineers through innovative learning processes and cutting-edge infrastructure.

Mobility is a central part of the NeurotechEU alliance, with a wide range of opportunities for students, researchers, lifelong learners, and professionals. These mobility options can be virtual, in-person, or blended. You can find information about upcoming opportunities on the NeurotechEU website [link: https://theneurotech.eu/], as well as on the Radboud University
website and newsletter, on social media, and within the student network. For any questions regarding mobility opportunities within NeurotechEU, feel free to contact projectoffice@theneurotech.eu.

Dedicated to the research and understanding of the human brain and nervous system since 1997. Our focus on positively impacting neuroscience made Brain Products the worldwide leading manufacturer of hard and software solutions for neurophysiological research. Our solutions cover a wide range of fields of ERP, BCI, EEG/fMRI, EEG/TMS, MoBI (Mobile Brain/Body Imaging), as well as infant, sports, sleep, behavioural sciences and similar disciplines. Since, for us, a solution is only a solution if it covers all the researcher’s needs, we also offer a variety of psychophysiological sensors, easily integrated stimulation and analysis software, alongside free technical and scientific support.

MedCaT B.V. was founded in 2000 in Erica, where the company started as a one-man business focused on the sale of medical equipment. To this day, the variety of product categories, specialized products and accessories within MedCaT continues to increase; from DIY kits to advanced EEG systems. Our goal is to support our customers as best as possible with a wide range of high-quality products in combination with flexible and customer-oriented service.

MedCaT is an ISO 13485 certified dealer in the field of equipment and accessories for neurodiagnostics (EEG, EMG, TMS), vascular diagnostics (TCD, ABI), research (EEG, EEG in fMRI, TDCS, TMS) and neuro- and biofeedback. Our offices are located in the Netherlands (HQ) and Belgium, but we ship the accessories from the webshop worldwide.

The Donders Institute is a world-class research network. We are home to more than 1,000 scientists from all over the world who share the common goal of contributing to the advancement of the brain-, cognitive- and behavioural sciences. The institute enables access to the most advanced research facilities (we are currently building the most advanced magnetic resonance scanner in the world), fosters interdisciplinary collaborations, and we train the new generation of researchers.

Mission
Our mission is to advance the understanding of brain, cognition, and behaviour, from molecules to individuals to communities. We carry out curiosity-driven fundamental and translational research on natural and artificial systems with the ultimate goal of impacting society. We train early career researchers and we foster inclusivity.

Goal
The Institute is home to more than 600 researchers from 35 countries who share the common goal of contributing to the advancement of the brain-, cognitive- and behavioural sciences through investigator-driven research, and improving health, education and technology by applying advances in this field.

Dondrite is a study association involved in promoting the interaction between students and employees of the Donders Institute in Nijmegen.

They do so by organizing activities that encourage socializing among students, making it easier for them to get to know each other and discover the city of Nijmegen. Dondrite also organises different study-related activities that range from lectures by guest speakers to discussion groups about hot topics; and further aim at improving the study environment by organizing study groups that encourage a more interactive and cooperative approach and favor a deeper understanding of the different courses.

About our teaching
As a student of the Faculty of Social Sciences, you will learn about human behaviour, artificial intelligence, education and child-rearing, communication, society and culture. During your study you encounter the latest developments in your field and develop research skills that will later enable you to set to work yourself.

About our research
Our researchers participate in research projects that relate to social and individual issues. Our social scientific research extends over a broad field, from the fundamental basis of human behaviour to research focusing on the treatment of behavioural and mental disorders, or intervention programmes in health and education. There are also analyses and projected solutions for socio-cultural issues.
